Story-writing Collaboration using Google Document

The story "Time Machine" is a collaboration between Peggy Plumkin and Tianhong Shi. We used Google Documents to collaboratively write the story. It could have big potential use for K-12 students to work on story writing or project.

1. Time Machine

By Tianhong Shi and Peggy Lumpkin

Time: 2020,

place/location: Anaheim CA. It will be a desert.

People: Tianhong Shi & Peggy Lumpkin

Events/incidents: We came and were looking for Hyatt; but we could not find the building. It was gone. AECT Conference at Hyatt Hotel;

What will we see? The ocean has moved to inland California all the way to Anaheim.

What will we do? We are using GPS to try to find the building Hyatt.

We can fish from the rooms. What vehicle do we use to go around in the desert? A Hummer tank to defend against the mobs looking for food.

By 2020, there will be no tall buildings, people will be living in movable houses, because there is frequent flood, fire, earthquake. We are survivalist who can hunt, fight and build things. Thanks to technical detection tools, people will get warning ahead of time and move their house before the disaster hits it. We are dependent on mass communications from Sprint, Verizon, and T-Mobile. So everyone has Blackberries and other cell phones. NASA and private space companies are building moon shuttles. We may start our first Mars colonies once we master space travel. Do you think there will be green trees and pastures left on earth? In the equatorial regions and in South America, Africa and some parts of China , South East Asia and Pacific Islands. Remotes areas

How about end our story with finding Hyatt in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Yes We send a diving party to discover the Lost City of the Hyatt Hotel

AECT Conference: day one

This is the first day of my conference. I learned that google has purchased blogger.com now so that I can log into blogger with my gmail account. It made things much easier for someone like me who can not remember my yahoo or hotmail username and password. Since google acconts are free, I am not so worried about google's monopoly. So far, I enjoyed this morning's workshop of using google tools to integrate information and communication technology for K-12 educators and students. It's fun.
